Favorite Recipe - Handmade Tortillas
Chewy, tender, and delicious, I absolutely love this handmade tortilla recipe. They’re perfect for quesadillas, soft tacos, burritos, wraps, or enchiladas; they’re also incredibly tasty on their own. Once you make them, you’ll never want to have store-bought ones again!
*These tortillas taste just as good the next day; just cover them with a damp paper towel when heating them up.
Ingredients
3 cups of flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup warm water
Directions
Mix all the ingredients together.
Knead dough for 5-8 minutes. Cover with a towel and let rest for 15 minutes.
Divide dough into 12 parts and roll into smooth balls. Cover and let rest for another 15 minutes.
Flatten each ball into a disk. Either use a press or roll by hand very thin.
Place in a preheated skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds. Flip as soon as you see bubbles.
Keep finished tortillas covered with a damp towel.
Makes 12 tortillas.
