Best Pumpkin Patches in DFW

 
 

October is right around the corner, meaning it’s time for pumpkins galore! Whether you like going to a pumpkin patch to purchase some for your home, taking the kids out for a fun afternoon, or taking beautiful fall photos, going to a pumpkin patch is a must in autumn. Here are a few of my favorite pumpkin patches in the DFW area that are worth a visit.

Autumn at the Arboretum: A Fall Fairy Tale

Named by Fodor’s Travel as “One of America’s Best Pumpkin Festivals,” the Annual Autumn at the Dallas Arboretum is a must-see. This year’s theme, “A Fall Fairy Tale,” features the return of Cinderella’s Carriage, the acclaimed Pumpkin Village, and re-imagined displays of classic tales like The Sword in the Stone, Jack & The Beanstalk, One Thousand and One Nights, and The Three Little Pigs. Overall, over 100,000 pumpkins, squash, and gourds AND 150,00 autumn flowers will be displayed for visitors to marvel at. The celebration will also include a hay bale maze, music, pumpkins available for additional purchase at the pumpkin patch, and much more!

  • Location: Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens - 8525 Garland Road, Dallas, Texas 75218

  • Hours: Autumn at the Arboretum will be held September 17 – October 31, 2022 with the grounds open daily from 9 AM – 5 PM.

  • Admission: $20 for ages 13-64; $16 for Seniors (65+); $12 for children ages 2 -12; free for Dallas Arboretum Members. Parking is $11 if you purchase ahead of time online and $15 at the entrance.

Hall’s Pumpkin Farm

Every October, people from all over DFW visit Hall’s Pumpkin Farm, a family-owned farm that’s been around since 1929. The farm has pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, hay bales, gourds, and corn stalks everywhere. Try your hand at the two-acre, 9-ft. tall corn maze for an extra adventure. The little ones will love visiting all the farm animals –cows, donkeys, goats, sheep, rabbits, and chickens – that call Hall’s Pumpkin Farm home.

  • Hours: The farm will be open October TBD, 2022. Open Wednesdays and Thursdays, 3-8 PM, Fridays 3-9 PM, Saturdays 10 AM – 9 PM, and Sundays 1-8 PM. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

  • Admission: $15 for ages 12 and older; $10 for ages 4-11; free for ages 3 and younger. The cost of admission includes parking and the corn maze. Please note that the farm is cash only. Concessions and pumpkins are available for added cost(s).

Lola’s Pumpkin Farm

This beautiful pumpkin patch is a North Texas favorite, and with good reason – the farm has pumpkins galore with plenty of opportunities for fun and family photos. On Saturdays and Sundays only, there will be lots of fun activities such as face painting, hayrides, pumpkin painting, pony rides, and more. As a bonus, Vendor Days will take place every Sunday that the patch is open (9/25, 10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23) from 12 – 4 PM, where visitors can purchase fresh goodies and beautiful gifts.

  • Location: 1771 Kever Main, Melissa, TX 75454

  • Hours: The Pumpkin Patch will be open September, 23 – October 31, 2022. Open Wednesdays – Thursdays, 3 – 7 PM; Fridays – Saturdays, 10 AM – 7 PM; and Sundays, 10 AM – 5 PM.

  • Admission: Free for everyone and parking is $5.

Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch

The Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch has it all: rows and rows of bright orange pumpkins, two separate mazes (one for small kids and one for big kids), a playground with playhouses, a merry-go-round, cartoon cutouts for photos, hayrides, and a pumpkin train. Local vendors will sell delicious treats, including snow cones, kettle corn, and corn dogs. Our four-legged friends are also welcome, provided they stay on a leash.

  • Location: 5100 Cross Timbers Rd, Flower Mound, TX 75028

  • Hours: Hours: Open seasonally from October 1 – October 31, 2022, the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch is open daily from 9 AM – 7 PM, weather permitting.

  • Admission: All activities are free with a parking fee, which is $10 Monday through Friday and $20 on Saturday and Sunday. Pumpkins for sale for as little as $2.

Pumpkin Nights

At Pumpkin Nights, you will set out on a Halloween walking path, unlike anything you've ever experienced. You will discover 10-foot tall Jack-o-Lanterns, the world's largest pumpkin guitar, a flying 40-foot handmade dragon, a life-size pumpkin pirate ship, and more fantastic surprises built by artists using over 5,000 hand-carved natural and synthetic pumpkins. Journey through the seven different-themed lands for a pumpkin journey like no other!

  • Location: Howell Farms - 4016 W Division St, Arlington, TX 76012

  • Hours: Pumpkin Nights will run daily from September 22, - October 30, 2022. The everyday operation hours are 6 – 10:30 PM.

  • Admission: Weekday tickets are $14 while the weekends are $20; free for children ages 3 and younger. Tickets MUST be purchased in advance. Parking is $10 per car.
