Ways to Spend the Day Off
Whether it is a holiday or a weekend, my days off are sacred. I cherish the time I spend either by myself or with family or friends. Here are a few ways that I love to spend my days off.
Doing Nothing
Because my workdays are chalked full, one thing I love to do on my day off is do nothing. Sometimes I will curl up on the couch; other times, I will doze on my bed, and when the weather is good, I will sit outside and listen to the sounds of nature. Doing nothing allows my mind to refocus and take a much-needed break from reality.
Working on a Puzzle
Even as a little girl, my sisters and I loved to do puzzles. We would often complete many puzzles in one day, and the result was nicknamed "Puzzle World." My favorite puzzles are pop-culture ones, such as Disney, Harry Potter, Marvel, DC, Scooby-Doo, etc. I also enjoy any puzzle that has beautiful landscapes or adorable animals. I can spend hours sitting at a table and working on a puzzle.
Working on My Novel
Whenever I get a little bit of time, I love to work on finishing my first novel. The lists of tasks include:
Conducting research.
Creating exciting locations.
Planning the events of the plot.
Refining characters' personalities.
Writing and editing chapters in the book.
Becoming a published author has been my dream for years now, so I'm taking the steps necessary to achieve that goal.
Watching TV/Comfort Movie
Usually, on my day off, I will watch either a movie or tv. I know it's probably not the best, as there are other fun and productive things I could be doing instead, but it's a guilty pleasure of mine. I watch everything from informative documentaries to suspenseful mysteries depending on my mood. My interests are all over the place!
