Favorite Recipe - Tortillas
Chewy, tender, and delicious, I love handmade tortillas. They’re perfect for quesadillas, soft tacos, burritos, wraps, or enchiladas, and they’re also incredibly tasty on their own. Once you make tortillas by hand, you’ll never want store-bought ones again!
*These tortillas taste just as good the next day; when heating them up, cover them with a damp paper towel.
Ingredients
3 cups of flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup warm water
Directions
Mix all the ingredients together.
Knead dough for 5-8 minutes. Cover with a towel and let rest for 15 minutes.
Divide dough into 12 parts and roll into smooth balls. Cover and let rest for another 15 minutes.
Flatten each ball into a disk. Either use a press or roll by hand very thin.
Place in a preheated skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds. Flip as soon as you see bubbles.
Keep finished tortillas covered with a damp towel.
Makes 12 tortillas.
